In 2007 Katy Mason began designing what is now Eastwood Early Education. With the support of her parents and brothers, a wonderful team of engineering consultants and builders, this dream came to fruition in August 2010.
Working in the field of early childhood for over 20 years,
with
a passionate focus on children, Katy ensured there is an
intentionality and theoretical underpinning
to each element of both design and practice at Eastwood Early Education.
Indoor and outdoor spaces consider how children learn in a variety of environments.
Spaces are designed to foster each child’s learning style and harness opportunities for diversity.
Responsive to every learner, with wheelchair accessible spaces & educators using Auslan.
Menu supports children in nutrition and health meals accommodating for those with allergies and intolerance.
Hi, my name is Katy Mason and I began my journey in Early Education as graduate educator. I have spent the last 20 years working across a variety of educational settings including early education, rural and remote state education, independent private primary schools and lecturing for QUT and USQ.
I'm a PhD Student and currently undertaking my Doctorate with a focus on parent and educator engagements positively impacting child wellbeing.
I've presented at conferences all around the world including Oxford University - England, Los Angeles - USA and Banff - Canada.
More about me? I'm a support worker for Lucia, an 11 year old with Autism, I'm an “ Unpublished” children’s author… one day – (it's on the to-do list!) and I live on 100 acre farm on outskirts of Toowoomba with my teenage daughter Zara who has been a huge part of my Eastwood journey.
Hi, my name is Andrea, and I am the Director at Eastwood Early Education. I have been in childcare for the past 8 years, starting my journey with the company as a student before making my way from educator, working across all age groups to director and HR manager.
I love working with the children and watching them learn and grow. These early years are such an amazing time to be involved in shaping little minds and little lives.
As director and HR manager, I am provided the opportunity to work closely with staff, families and their children to guide them from the transition into care and then on to life!
My name is Nadia and I have an exciting role overseeing the compliance and operations of our services. I have almost a decade of experience in early childhood, ranging from on the floor engagement to Educational Leader and Director roles.
I generally work behind the scenes developing and overseeing centre Policies and Procedures and drive our centre through our quality improvement journey.
I believe the early years are fundamental in shaping who a person becomes as an adult, this empowers me to be
passionate about building confidence in children and celebrating their attempts and effort in their learning.
I am the Kindergarten Teacher (ECT) in Group 5 (Langmorn). I hold a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Early Childhood.
My passion is in the early years which I believe is an integral part of children’s learning and development and that children learn best through play and interactions with others.
I have been part of the Eastwood family since 2016 and have since become an advocate for preparing young minds for primary school. If you have any questions about Kindergarten or school readiness, I am happy to help.
"We have two children at Eastwood Early Education. Amelia is five and George is two. When we first came through for the tour, it just had a really lovely feel to it and it just felt right. Amelia comes home with learning new things all the time. There's often so many times that we look at each other and say, "Did you teach her that? "Where did she get that from? "That's amazing." So she just has blossomed and developed and really taken off.
I think definitely come and have a tour and just get a feel for it yourself. And I think you'll love it as much as we do. If you're looking or thinking of a place to grow your children, I can't think of a better place."
"What I love the most about Eastwood is the family feeling. Open arms they welcome you, they welcome your child. I trust them to help me raise my child. The educators here have really help both my children Charlotte and Ruben, get ready and get prepared for school by making them feel comfortable in that classroom environment, making them want to learn what's next for them making it an exciting time. They just want to keep coming back and doing more.
School is so exciting for them so to see them to grow throughout this kindy year with all of the tools and tips that the educators have given both of them has been really exciting. If you're thinking of sending your child to any sort of daycare or kindergarten come and see the family at Eastwood."
